Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A query entered in a search tool is sent to the outside company that operates that tool. The provider processes the name or location and supplies its own results. Warren County Criminal History does not retain or log those search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email or other direct message may be kept long enough to review it and send a response. The message is not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
Normal server and analytics logs can collect technical facts when a page loads:
- Device IP address
- Browser name and version
- Operating system and device category
- Pages viewed and time spent on them
- Referring website, when supplied
- Date and time of each request
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files that can help measure traffic, popular pages, and how visitors move through the site. Analytics providers may aggregate that usage information. A browser can reject or remove cookies, although some website functions may then behave differently.
What We Do With This Data
Collected data may be used for the following operational purposes:
- Maintaining reliable and responsive pages
- Routing a submitted query to the selected search partner
- Understanding which resources visitors use
- Finding performance, security, and technical problems
- Serving advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
Warren County Criminal History does not build, sell, or maintain a database of personal criminal records. It publishes general directions to the Warren County Sheriff's Department, the Circuit Court Clerk, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, the Tennessee Department of Correction, and the Tennessee Sex Offender Registry. The Tennessee Public Records Act, Tenn. Code Ann. §§ 10-7-501 through 10-7-515, controls access to qualifying government records, while Tenn. Code Ann. § 38-6-120 addresses TBI criminal-history checks. Neither makes this private website an official record custodian. Visitor data is not assembled into a consumer report, and this resource is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies power the search boxes. Information submitted to one of those tools is handled under that company's privacy policy, retention schedule, and sharing practices. Those rules are not controlled by Warren County Criminal History. Review the provider's policy before sending a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Warren County offices, Tennessee courts, state agencies, other official resources, and outside search services. Once a visitor leaves this website, the destination's privacy policy applies. Read that policy before supplying personal information.
Advertising services may use their own systems to measure activity across websites and select ads. That tracking is governed by the advertising provider.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal information is not sold. Limited data can be available to:
- Search providers processing a query submitted through their tool
- Analytics vendors measuring use and performance
- Advertising networks placing or measuring ads
- Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under valid legal process
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable technical and organizational safeguards are used for information under our control. No internet service can guarantee perfect security, uninterrupted operation, or protection from every breach. These measures reduce risk but do not eliminate it.
Users Under 18
This website is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. If such information is identified, it will be removed.
Your Data Rights
Rights depend on the law that applies where a visitor lives. Tennessee's Public Records Act concerns government-held records rather than private website analytics. Subject to applicable law and the data actually held here, a visitor may:
- Request access to personal data we retain
- Ask that inaccurate personal data be corrected
- Request deletion of retained personal data
- Object to or opt out of certain processing
Updates to This Policy
